
Dr Belinda Garth is an experienced qualitative researcher with a current appointment as Senior Research Fellow & Translation Lead for the Advancing Women in Healthcare Leadership national initiative at the Monash Centre for Health Research and Implementation (MCHRI), Monash University in partnership with Monash Health. Belinda has worked at MCHRI since April 2021.
Prior to this appointment, Belinda worked in the general practice vocational training sector for almost 7 years in research, evaluation and quality assurance. She led and engaged in numerous research and evaluation projects which informed educational development and delivery in GP vocational training, and undertook supervision of a Masters in Clinical Education project. Before that, Belinda worked as a qualitative research consultant, with work centred on doctor-patient communication, patient access and engagement in health care, health information technology, general practice, and medical education. She has a Bachelor of Health Science (Hons) and a PhD from La Trobe University that focused on doctor-patient partnerships when the patient is a child with a disability.
Over the years Belinda has applied her expertise with research teams nationally and internationally, working with the Department of General Practice at the University of Melbourne, the University of Sydney, and Charles Drew University of Medicine & Science in Los Angeles, USA.
