PCOS Consumer Booklet

This Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) information booklet is provided in digital format for PCOS consumers. The booklet is easy to read and is based on the best available evidence and written by leading experts.

PCOS Clinic

The Statewide Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Service is unique and is the first of its kind nationally. The Service is co-designed by women affected by PCOS and staffed with a multidisciplinary team who are world leaders in PCOS. It is supported by funding from the state government and affiliated with the NHMRC Centre for Research Excellence in PCOS. It is a public clinic offered through Monash Health.

PCOS Question Prompt List (QPL)

The Question Prompt List is a document intended to help women with PCOS obtain professional medical advice. It lists questions that are OK to ask your doctor or health professional. It is for women of all ages, weights and backgrounds. You may have been diagnosed recently or a long time ago.

Free lifestyle program: Life!

  • A healthier lifestyle is the first step to managing PCOS. This starts with a nutritious diet, regular physical activity and maintaining a healthy weight or reducing weight if in the unhealthy weight range.

The Life! program can help women with PCOS live a healthier and more active life.

What is the Life! program?

Life! is a free healthy lifestyle program for Victorian residents that gives you knowledge, support and expert advice.

Sessions are run by health professionals, including dietitians and exercise physiologists, and you will learn more about:

  • nutrition
  • physical activity
  • sleep
  • managing stress and setbacks
  • setting goals

You will receive a comprehensive participant workbook full of practical information as well as emails between sessions to help you create healthy habits and routines.

How is Life! run?

You can choose between the Life! group course or telephone health coaching service. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, group courses sessions are currently run online.

Life! consists of seven sessions run across a 12-month period.

The introductory session (1 hour) is a one-on-one between you and your Life! facilitator. Your Life! facilitator will work with you to create health goals that are tailored to your needs and lifestyle.

The first four group sessions (30 minutes) are run fortnightly, group session five is at six months and the final session is 12 months after starting the program.

Join the Life! program today – we’re here to support you to live a healthier life. Life! is run by Diabetes Victoria and funded by the Victorian Government and over 60,000 Victorians have taken part in the program since it began in 2007.
